Meet Capt. Rebekah – Your Guide to the Natural Magic of the Florida Keys

Boat Trips in Islamorada, FL

With a lifelong passion for storytelling, education, and the environment, Capt. Rebekah brings a unique and unforgettable perspective to every trip aboard Coral Keys Adventures.

After studying English/Journalism and Ecology/Geology at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Rebekah moved to the Florida Keys in 1999 — and never looked back. As an award-winning environmental reporter, she covered the region’s most critical ecological stories and earned 13 statewide journalism awards, including the prestigious Florida Press Association’s Outdoor Writing Award for her deep-dive into the Keys’ iconic lobster mini-season.

In 2004, she founded The Upper Keys Times, a publication dedicated to capturing the essence of life in the Keys — its people, its wildlife, and the breathtaking natural beauty that makes this place so special. Her passion for the ocean only deepened from there.

By 2022, Rebekah earned her USCG 6-pack captain’s license and channeled her love for the water into leading immersive, eco-conscious boat tours. She later launched and captained the tour division of a local boat rental company, gaining a reputation for providing fun, educational, and environmentally respectful experiences on the water.

In August 2025, Capt. Rebekah launched Coral Keys Adventures, operating out of Whale Harbor Marina (MM 83.4 Oceanside). Aboard her 25-foot Sea Fox Commander, guests are treated to unforgettable snorkeling trips, ecological tours, and rich storytelling about Keys history and wildlife — all guided by someone who’s spent more than two decades exploring and advocating for this one-of-a-kind ecosystem.

In addition to running Coral Keys Adventures, Capt. Rebekah is also a keyboardist and back-up vocalist for the Florida Keys band, Generation Gap, which plays each month at Island Grill’s Full Moon parties as well as other community events. She has been a longtime member of the local club Wild Women on the Water, serving as its president and on the board of directors for several years. She also helps her fiance, Clay, with his businesses, Coral Keys Party Rentals and Florida Keys Hot Sauce Company. She loves animals and has 20+ chickens and a small egg business, Islamorada Farm Fresh Eggs. Capt. Rebekah also loves to travel and has been to 40+ countries.

Whether you’re a nature lover, a curious traveler, or a family seeking a fun and educational day on the water, Capt. Rebekah is the perfect host to show you the hidden wonders of the Florida Keys.
