Sandbar, Snorkeling, Sightseeing, Ecotours and Sunset Trips
Capt. Rebekah is more than your captain—she’s a longtime Florida Keys local, former journalist and teacher, environmental storyteller, and lifelong lover of the water who brings more than 25 years of Keys experience to every Coral Keys Adventures charter.
Rebekah graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, majoring in English with a concentration in Journalism and minoring in Geology.
It was actually a geology class that first brought her to the Florida Keys. Rebekah and a group of students traveled here to study the coral reefs, fish, geology, and ecology of the islands. She fell in love with the Keys, and a year later, after graduating, she moved here in 1999.
Rebekah began her Keys career as a journalist, earning 13 statewide journalism awards for her work, including the Florida Press Association’s Outdoor Writing Award. In 2004, she founded The Upper Keys Times, a community newspaper dedicated to the people, environment, and unique lifestyle of the Florida Keys.
She later spent 16 years as a teacher, teaching high school English, English as a Second Language, and Journalism. That background still comes through on her charters today. Capt. Rebekah loves sharing the stories behind the wildlife, ecosystems, history, and places you encounter along the way. You may learn a few things—but don’t worry, there’s no quiz at the end! 😉🐠
In 2022, Rebekah earned her U.S. Coast Guard captain’s license, and in August 2025 she launched Coral Keys Adventures in Islamorada.
Aboard her 25-foot Sea Fox Commander, she offers private snorkeling, sandbar, sightseeing, wildlife, eco, and sunset adventures customized around each group’s interests and the conditions that day.
Capt. Rebekah is a longtime member of Wild Women on the Water and has served as the organization’s president and in several positions on its board of directors.
Her husband, Clay Crockett, owns Coral Keys Party Rentals. In fact, Coral Keys Adventures got its name from Clay’s Coral Keys Party Rentals, creating a family connection between their two businesses. Clay also owns Florida Keys Hot Sauce Company.
At home, Rebekah keeps a flock of chickens and runs Islamorada Farm Fresh Eggs. She also loves to travel and has visited more than 40 countries, which is one reason she especially enjoys meeting guests from around the world.
What began as a college geology trip became a lifelong love of the Florida Keys. From studying its reefs, to reporting on its environment, teaching for 16 years, and ultimately becoming a captain, Rebekah has spent much of her life learning about—and sharing—the place she calls home.
Now she gets to share it with you from the water. 🌴🐬⚓
Your boat. Your group. Your adventure.
